Reproductive Psychiatrist

Nicole Scott, MD

Nicole Scott, MD

As a resident physician, I met Dr. Kristin Lasseter—then Chief of our training program—who was already leading efforts to expand reproductive psychiatry in Austin, Texas. Having developed an early passion for women’s mental health while working as a nursing assistant in Nashville, I knew I wanted to help build access to specialized care for women and families. Today, I’m honored to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment for pregnancy-related mood and anxiety disorders, postpartum depression, and perinatal mental health concerns at Reproductive Psychiatry & Counseling in Austin, TX.

A native Austinite, I returned to Texas to complete my medical degree at UT-Houston and then trained at the UT Dell Medical School Psychiatry Residency Program, where I served as Chief Resident. During residency, I focused on perinatal psychiatry and created elective rotations to expand education in this vital yet underserved area of care.

In my work, I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach, partnering with patients and their families to set goals, explore treatment options, and make informed decisions together. Whether addressing infertility-related stress, postpartum anxiety, PMDD, or other women’s mental health conditions, my goal is to help each patient feel understood, supported, and empowered to enjoy their journey through motherhood and beyond.

If you’re looking for a reproductive psychiatrist in Austin, Texas or seeking support for postpartum depression, perinatal anxiety, or other maternal mental health concerns, I’m here to help.
