The journey of pregnancy and postpartum can be complex with a combination of emotions ranging anywhere from joy to grief. This is too often misunderstood, leaving mothers vulnerable to feelings of guilt and shame. My hope is that we can build a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood. I believe therapy is collaborative and my role is to aid you in a safe, caring, and non-judgmental manner.

I have 4 years of experience working in outpatient clinical settings. The last 3.5 years in a Women’s Health Center serving women with issues related to unplanned pregnancies, infertility, miscarriages, stillbirths, and complex trauma. These unpredictable and many times uncontrollable circumstances can lead to perinatal mood disorders, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorders.

I strive to provide trauma-informed culturally sensitive services and I take pride in being bilingual Spanish and English speaking.  I acknowledge the many facets of a person such as family, race, culture, environment, and religion. I use a variety of evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness. I am trained in EMDR and use this as a modality to treat traumatic stressors as well as anxiety disorders. I have additional EMDR training in early care and ongoing traumatic stress.

It takes courage to acknowledge the need for therapy. My commitment is to help you reflect and identify cognitive and behavioral patterns in your life that might no longer serve you. With that, I encourage the development of healthier coping skills that align with your values and promote self-compassion. I genuinely care about my clients and it’s important to me to bring my own values of honesty, commitment, connection, humility, and authenticity into the therapy room.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I like going to soccer and football games -Vamos Verde! & Hook ‘em horns! I love traveling and mesmerized by the beauty of nature. My favorite shows and movies include Friends, New Girl, Harry Potter, Star Wars, La La Land, and Disney’s Luca. I value my Mexican culture and love anything that represents my heritage - music, dance, art, and food.
